Pepper / Merica / Sahang is a spice plant that plays an important role in the Indonesian economy as a superior commodity and has a very distinctive character and cannot be replaced with other spices so that it is nicknamed the "king of spices" or the king of spices. The global market recognizes white pepper from Indonesia specifically, namely Muntok white pepper from Bangka Belitung Province, which has received geographical recognition and protection from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through Geographical Indications in 2010 with registration number ID G 000000004. Geographical indication shows the area of origin and the geographical environmental factors of muntok white pepper give a certain reputation, quality, and characteristics with the aim of giving a higher selling value to muntok white pepper products. |
